How should I care for my books?

Books last forever as long as we look after them. Here are a few quick tips on how to care of your books. 

  • Store your books in a shady part of the room away from direct sunlight / any high-intensity light and any damp areas.
  • Regularly clean your books/shelves. Dust them with a clean cloth (microfiber).
  • Shelve your books well e.g paperbacks in an upright position and hardcovers flat on a surface.
  • Clean & dry your hands before you handle your books and save the pages from stains, grease, and crumbs.
Is there a physical location?

No, The Creaking Bookshelf is an exclusively online bookstore. We strive to build the platform to be user-friendly so as to enhance your experience.

Do you deliver outside of Kampala area / upcountry?

Yes, we do deliver outside Kampala and upcountry. Our standard fee is Ugx 5,000 for Kampala & close surrounding areas. For upcountry areas, we will reach and work together to figure out a way to get the book package to you. 

I can't find a book title / author I’m looking for?

You can reach out to us via Call, DM on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram, or send a WhatsApp and we will work on getting it to you. We will alert you as soon as it’s in stock. You can also make a request through our Book Request page 

How is payment made?

This can be made via Airtel / MTN Momo Pay or Cash on Delivery (if you’re unable to do mobile payments). Merchant code details are available at check-out. 

When will I receive my order?

We make deliveries on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If you would like to know the status of your order or need it sent expressly, please let us know a day in advance so we can accommodate your needs.

What is your return policy?

We are always excited when we send book packages to you and so we want you to be happy with your purchase. We try as much as possible to share the true nature of the conditions of the books we have.

If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with the book and wish to return it, send us a message or call. We will do our best to accommodate you. You can also check out our Refunds & Returns policy.
